June 6, 2005 at 7:56 pmTry the effect called “Lightning” and “Advanced Lightning.” i think they are both under the Effects > Render Menu – Don’t have AE in front of me… Not sure if advanced Lighting only comes with the Pro version.

June 8, 2005 at 12:07 pmbit confused though i was under the impression that you could restrain this effect to the alpha channel, though every time i’ve looked at it i cant see it any thoughts???

June 9, 2005 at 3:03 amDo you mena have it “Cling” to the alpha? – You need to apply the Advanced lightning to the layer you want to have the lightning adhere to. Then turn up the value on the property called “Alpha Obstacle” in the effect. You might try changing the “lightning type” to something other than the default.
Also, you may want to composite on original (Checkbox at the bottom).
