So I installed the latest release on my 2014 15″ MacBook Pro (11,3 model), and it started running hotter than normal (IStat Pro showed 150-165F vs. 125-135F commonly). On that alone I switched back to Yosemite (10.10.5), as that was the only change in my system, and heat kills (and it’s already on a cooling stand w/fans).
It didn’t help that Final Cut Pro 7 wouldn’t even open, although Compressor and Soundtrack Pro were fine (from the same suite!). CS6 opened Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Encore (legacy) but those are all I usually work in, and I just opened recent projects- no heavy lifting. Curious on anyone using cloud-based software: any issues? Waiting for a usable version to see if “metal” matters, at least the MBP runs cooler again. We’re all beta-testers anyway…

I saw a bunch of complaints about EL Capitan, that’s why I still go with Yosemite. Currently all things run smoothly even with a few updates.
