    Greetings All,

    I have an unenviable problem. Essentially, SD zoom to remove the letterbox for 16:9 output.
    The source is a DV timeline in FCP. I’ve got an ioHD, a DSR-11, and an Ampex CVR-75 (same as BVW-75). Working on a current MacPro.

    Is there some way to do a decent job of this with the gear I’ve got? I’ve tried to run the source out to Beta and upconvert while re-ingesting, but the results aren’t what I was hoping for. I don’t expect that scaling in FinalCut will look any better.

    Any ideas?

    haven’t done it but isn’t the following made for you problem?
    Aja ioHD control panel > format tab > SD to SD options (bottom right in window) > (I think) you would choose H crop?

    So that would be: out to tape -> ingest w/vertical crop @525i29.97 ?

    Looks like that should be it – will post back w/results.
