I am using XPress Pro 4.6 (without Mojo) on a Mac G5. Somehow I altered a setting so that when I apply an effect, I can only see it when I go into Effect Mode or after rendering. It was not doing this before. Now, if I apply a realtime effect before rendering and am not it Effect Mode, I only see the clip without the effect. If I apply a non-realtime effect, it does not show the clip at all unless I render or go into Effect Mode.

In the past, when applying realtime effects (and before rending) I used to see the effect when in pause on the timeline. And non-realtime effects used to show the original clip, not black.

    What happened? Thanks.

By the way, it DOES show the realtime effect when I play with the Digital Video Out button toggled off, but it disappears when I stop playing and the image is in pause. In the past, when in pause it would always show the realtime effect (or the clip without the effect instead of black for non-realtime effects) regardless of Digital Video Out.

Make sure that “render on the fly” is checked in the menu.

Thank you kindly… that solved it!
