Effects presets problem
I’ve saved some effects presets in the “Basic” effects. Now when I open the Basic selection, I get spinning beach ball & the Mac locks up. Where do I find these presets, so I can delete them at the finder level?

Mac HD -> Users -> [your home folder] -> Movies -> Motion Templates -> Effects

No, that’s actually the path to MOTION templates, FX etc.
Saved effects presets are located in User/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Effects Presets/
The same place you can find color and export presets also btw.

Well, after searching all the recommended folders, I cannot find Effects Presets anywhere!
However I’ve solved the problem by trashing fcpx prefs, rebuilding permissions then running Disk Warrior. This has brought back my effects presets.
I think my problems may have been due to migrating everything over to my new Mac, where I should have clean installed everything…Chris Stevens – Waterline Media. Marine Production Company.
