Effects – Like a broken joystick
This is a good one – when using any effects — cookie cutter, brightness — anything, when applied to the video, the effect is not impacting the entire frame and its not alligned.. for example, when trying to do a simple cookie cutter — a circle or example, when applied, the shows the circle off to the side.. same for any shape or effect.. the effect is just like you would get if you used a conventional switcher and applied a wipe and the joystick was on and set to the far left instead of center — the old switchers would have a switch (position on/off) and this result looks just like that! Does anyone know what I’m talking about… is there a master “unity” switch that resets everything?
Help! I’m “effectless” until I can fix this… BTW, when you try to add an effect, Brightness/Contrast, I get the effect on HALF the frame..

Sounds like you have the “split screen” view turned on. It’s the button just above the preview screen that’s a circle half dark and half light. There’s also a drop-down arrow beside the button that allows you to change modes. You might want to search the help file for more details on how useful it can be.

I thought that as well but when I set the split screen to on e half and then added a cookie cutout to the center of the event it shouwed the left half of the cutout. Not the same as it being offset to the left.
However, if I set the cookie on the event but have the whole track moved to the left then all my effects move over there too. Could that be it?
