Effects Help
Has anyone rum into this. Okay on my time line I am doing an alpha matt, so in V1 a BKG, V2 MY MATT AND V3 MY VIDEO. Okay I have Diss between the video parts in V3 and I put a soft edge effect on them. One clip is cropped to fit the matt better. When I render it out and the TLI plays from clip one to the cropped clip I see the hard edges of the cropped clip and then the soft edge effect comes on. I have not been able to find a way for the cropped clip to just diss in with the soft edge effect affecting it. The effect comes on after the diss is over. Any ideas. I do not have any key frames in the effects.

Yes, FCP’s effects processing order is whacky.
You will need to nest one or more layers and dissolve between the nests.
Or pre-render a couple layers and their effects, export the rendered movie and then import the rendered movie. Do not import the render file, FCP’s terribly flawed render management will likely drop it sooner or later.bogiesan
