I have some text effects with standard turbulence and gaussian blur. I did some experimenting and set the project from 8-bit to 32-bit pixal format. When I play the clip, the effects seems to have gone away. Why did this happen?

Another question. When would one want to use the 32-bit pixal format? My video camera is the HDR-CX500V. It has the ability to shoot with x.v color. I currently do not have this turned on. If I shoot video with this setting, I was under the assumption that I would want to set the project to 32-bit floating in order to utilize/keep this additional detail. If I do this then it would seem that I would have difficulty with effects as noted above. Thanks.

My guess is that the FX you’re using don’t support 32-bit floating point.
The online help file has a bit more on this capability.
