Effects examples
As a newb to PP the number of effects that come bundled is overwhelming. The only way I even know what’s there is by seeing specific effects used in examples of more complicated effects that I come across online. Has anyone ever created a comprehensive list of them or, better yet, a list with examples? Thanks for any pointers.

Not exactly. That describes the categories that effects are organized into, but (except for a few exceptions) doesn’t tell you the effects’ names. If I don’t know an effect exists, I don’t know to look for it. I have to guess that it exists, and then what category it might be in, which is better than nothing, but not as good (for me anyway) as having seen it at some point.

I agree that having a list would be good even for pro editors. What I did was: Everytime that I had to create a fancy effect, I would go online and look for videos explaining how to do it. There are much more videos today than 11 years ago, therefore you would be fine learning.
You can do basic Google researches also. Just like the one I just did here:
