  Effects change after version update?

  We’re working on the transition to PremPro in this facility, so please excuse what may be an obvious question. I’ll simplify this as much as possible.

  I edited a project on a station that had PP 7.2.2 (33) installed and built an effect, made a effect preset, and applied it to several sequences. It had no plugins and it consisted of basically and corner pin, basic 3d, motion and color correction effect. Everything worked great.

  I had to move to another workstation that had 8.0.1 (21) installed. When I render the effect on the new station, the effects no longer work. It seems the motion paths have changed, or maybe keying priorities have changed, effecting the motion paths. Not sure what, but the effect was no longer usable.

  What I’ve tried…

  The effect still works in the old station (pre upgrade version of the project)

  I copied the effect preset from the old station to the new and reapplied it. Still bad.

  I am not able to upgrade the old station (It’s not mine) so I didn’t try that.

  I had to rebuild the effect, actually using a different set of effects, and re-edited all the sequences. The base effects seem to apply differently in the different software versions, even though they appear the same.

  Anyone have an idea what may be causing this? It’ll come in handy for future project planning so I know what to avoid. What am I missing?
