    Hi All,

I use my Epson R1800 for doing CD/DVD labels and use my HP 952C deskjet printer for general/all purpose printing. The ink cartridges to the Epson R1800 cost to much to replace all the time. Your talking about $14.99 per cartridge. I can’t find those cartridges at Sam’s Club. Sam’s has the cartridges for my HP 952C. I’m now considering to have all of them refilled at Cartridge World for about half the price. Has anyone had their cartridges
refilled by Cartridge World? If so, let me know how it worked out. By the way, I use Photoshop for my design and saved as a JPEG, then brought into my CD/DVD printer software.

Just for the record – Canon Printers do this too – I have an i865 and a Pixma iP4200.

The i865 has an insert disc caddy, and the iP4200 has the disc holder built in.

The Canon Software is excellent – especially now that I’ve found how to print right to the edge of the new “smaller centre” DVDs.

Epson 6 color cartridge pack at Costco. Get them there for 5 R220’s in our studio. $55.00 per pk.

I have been using an Epson stylus photo 900 for printing my DVDs and have been very satisfied EXCEPT:

Tried a generic ink cartridge and worked horribly. May have been that one bad one in a bunch but am afraid to try again.

Also use a Primera automated printer for larger runs. Have never had a problem with it.

Use Discus software to set up the printing in both.

I buy full face printable DVD’s and use my Canon Pixma iP4200. Perfect printer… uses far less of the VERY EXPENSIVE Epson ink (I got rid of my previous Epson Printers as they were ink guzzlers!) As said use Photoshop (CS2) for covers etc.

iP4200 also has duplex printing as standard, a cassette under tray storage is very quiet and good on ink use… gets my vote everytime!

I just got this response from Canon USA. Go figure!

    >Canon USA has made the decision not to include the
    >CDR/DVD printing feature on consumer printers sold in this market.

    Terry,

Have you tried Cartridge World. They claim that their ink won’t clog up the printer.

Really? I am surprised Ed – there are not many products where it’s that way round!

If you get a label a little off-center, it will cause problems. Printing is best.
