  • Effect to enhance color?

    Hi!

I have a video filmed inside with indoor lighting, so all colors look yellowish. The camera was cheap, so even when I use color correction effect, I can take the yellow down but then color looks like bleached, no richness. Is there any way to compensate it, make it realistic?

    Some 3rd party filter?

Please post a screenshot of the footage before you applied any FX to it so that we can have a look at it and make recommendations.

    Ok, here it is!

The quality is really bad, what to do.

Hey, that’s pretty good! Thanks for the help! That’s much better than I could do, thanks for the tip.

I think I saw somewhere an effect from the Boris Continuum package which made colors nice rich, although it can be pretty much also achieved with the levels.

    Glad I could help you.
Vegas has some very powerful color correction tools but it does take time to master them (and I’m not even close to being there!!).
It also helps a lot to start with a clean image.

If you want to boost the colors, just increase the Saturation on the Color Corrector in Mike’s screen shot (I see it’s still set to 1.0)

You might also want to adjust the color curves to boost the overall intensity, and by selecting colour channel (R, G or B), selectively boost or reduce that color.

You will need to fine tune by eye using the mid and high color wheels of the color corrector fx to remove the color cast, or apply the secondary color corrector fx and tweak that.

I have seen and corrected much worse 🙂
