  • Effect preset change apply to all?

Posted by Ricard Rinaldo on January 26, 2014 at 9:17 pm

    Hi!

I´ve created an effects preset or rather a position, scale etc.
I have a timeline with multiple clips using this preset and i was wondering if there is
any way of making a change to the preset that applies to all clips that is using it.

    For example.

I have a picture in picture clip overlaying in the same way in 20 places in the timeline.
I now want to move it a little but as for now i have to save a new preset and the apply manually to
    all clips again.
I want the preset to work as a template and that the changes i make will affect all the clips using it.

    Someone have a suggestion?

Put all the pictures that are being composited on the same layer. Select those clips and Nest them. Now you can apply one effect to that one Nested clip and it will affect all the shots the same. They really don’t all need to be on the same layer, it just helps keeps thing tidy.

    Thanks, it will probably work.
Is it also possible to make settings to a track that will effect everything
that is on that specific track?
It would make it easier for me, or is it possible to add new clips to a existing “nest”
    in an easy way?

Right click on the nest in the project bin and select open in timeline. There you can add things to the nest and close it back up. Enable multicam on it and you can cycle through the layers with the number keys.
