Effect Controls In and Out
Posted by Stephen Smith on September 14, 2012 at 12:58 amI have a photo in Premiere Pro and would like to add a position key frame at the start of the image and then jump to the end of the image and mark another keyframe. In the time line you hold down shift and hit the up or down arrow. But that doesn’t work in the Effect Controls window. How do I do it in the Effects Controls window?

September 14, 2012 at 3:25 amClick the stopwatch to enter the initial keyframe. Keyframes will be automatically entered when you change the position settings or you can click the diamond to enter a keyframe without changing any settings.

September 14, 2012 at 11:48 amPaul, it’s the jump to the end of said clip is what he’s asking about. In FCP, there’s a key stroke to jump to the beginning or end of a clip when in effects mode.

September 14, 2012 at 2:24 pmExactly what Chris said. How do you jump to the end of the clip? Arrows up and down don’t do anything and arrows left or right only move one frame.
However I figured it out. Home key takes you to the start and the End key to the end. I can’t tell you how happy I am to figure that out, it is a big time saver.

September 14, 2012 at 3:24 pmI have never used an iMac but if it is like a macbook which I’m sure it is then you do the following:
If you hold down the fn (or control) key, you can use the left and right arrow keys as home and end keys respectively.
Let me know if it works. Best of luck.
