    Hello,
Can somebody please help me with this:

    I keep getting this message:

“The Effect (xxxxx) cannot be rendered in a sequence of this size with the current graphics card”.

    I’m working with these settings:

My system is a MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4Gb of Ram.. I also have a 23″ HD cinema display connected to the laptop.

How can I solve this issue ?

    Hi Andres,
You are trying to use an fxplug that need to be rendered in the GPU.
Your graphic card is not enough to accomplish the task.
You need to reduce the size of the picture or render to an 8b codec.
    Cheers,

Couple things real quick. I looked at your settings and wanted to point out that plain ol Prores is fine for most of what you’ll do unless your working with RED footage or are going to film for delivery. It’ll be easier on your machine and easier to work with, plus it has a slightly smaller file size.

Also, your audio settings are at 44.1 kHz and standard is 48 kHz. You should determine whether your original footage was really shit that way. If not, you should change that.

Just my 2 cents. Hope it’s helpful to you!

    thanks for your responses,
    Rafael,
How do I reduce the size of the picture and keep working on HD ?
How do I render to an 8b codec without affecting the quality of the picture?

    thanks

You need to downscale to 720.

You need to set your sequence to an 8b codec (DV50, PhotoJPEG, 8b Uncompress) and make sure you haven’t check the “Render all YUV material in High Precision”.

I’m in the same situation than you with my MBP.
Normally I end up in SD, so no problem to downscale to 720 and work in Prores.
For finishing in 1080 my only way is rendering in 8b.
10b rendering is convenient when you are applying many effects, graphics etc, but that you render in 8b doesn’t means that the quality will be reduced. Your original footage is 8b.
