When I export an EDL with CDL-Data via EDL-Manager, the CDL-Data looks like this:

    *ASC_SOP (1.026380 1.026380 1.026380)(-0.031143 -0.041865 -0.036000)(1.000000 1.0
    *00000 1.000000)
    *ASC_SAT 1.000000

Now, when I import this EDL into Nucoda, Nucoda creates a Layer with the CDL-Data – but because of the line break in the CDL-Power-Data (*00000 1.000000)) it misinterprets the green and blue-value of the Power-Grading-Information.

Now to my question: is there a way to export an EDL without Linebreak within the CDL-Data?

    Thanks in advance
    Thomas

It looks like your original CDL values as brought into the bin don’t meet the spec. Too many values after the decimal point. There was an issue with on on-set dailies system that was putting these values into the ALE causing the same problem. Which system created the values in the first place?

    Thanks for your answer Michael.

The CDL-Values were created by DaVinci Resolve (ALE export with CDL-Data).

You’re correct – if Resolve would give me CDL-Data with less values after the decimal point, it would work, because then the EDL would be without line break. But I can’t find a way to change the numer of values after a decimal point in Resolve.

Then again the number of values aren’t the problem: if I could get an EDL without line break, the Nucoda import would work (I manipulated the EDL manually in order to get an EDL without linebreak and Nucoda was happy with is)

Anyone has an idea how to export an EDL without line break?

Take a look at TextWrangler, a powerful text editor with lots of tools for line breaks and such. But the issue really starts with non compliant CDL values in the ALE. I will let Blackmagic know.

Wouldn’t mind to have a look at the EDL if you would forward it to me.

As far as EDL’s go you have to be careful since the format is quite rigid, adding a space in the wrong place could make the whole EDL unreadable.

Agree with Micheal, let the guys at BM know about the issue.

I have already contacted them, and they (BMD) are looking into it.

Patrick, I’ll send you the EDL as soon as I have access to it.

I also already sent the issue to the BM-Support.

Thank you both for helping me
