you can download an old version of the avid edl manager which runs under classic. I guess that if avid let us download it, it’s legal to use it…

it crashes under some circumstances, if I remember right, it’s when you try to drag and drop an edl. you must open it via File ->Open.

Remember that any speed change will not work if you ripple the timecode of the edl.

Thanks for the tip. But unfortunately the old Avid EDL tool does basically the same thinig as FCP’s EDL export, as far as formatting and sorting but doesn’t allow any modification. Other than opening up the EDL in a text editor and doing it by hand line by line.

Seeing that old Avid interface brought back old memories, makes me all that much more appreciative of FCP.

you’re right… the funny thing is that I remember I was recently able to ripple the TC of an edl on my mac. But I probaly had to do it on an Avid system…

there’s also another utility named EDLMax24 wich again runs in classic. But it’s outrageously priced…
There’s a demo which saves only 10 lines.

Instead of rewriting all the timcodes by hand, you should modify the clips TC or add an Aux TC. This methode also preserve speed changes.
