    Hello,
I’m trying to put out an EDL, as well as an audio only EDL of a movie I’m working on.
Half of the sound was into the camera, and came in as part of the clip. So it has the same time code as the video. The other half had to be sunc up, so it has no time code. I went back and put in the slate time code as the Aux time code, since the slate and the sound were jammed.
But I cannot figure out how to have the EDLs read the Aux time code.
Anybody know a solution for this, or if another thread was started about this?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    -Jake

    Jake,
You cannot have AUX timecode in an EDL afaik.
And even if you could, it has no value as there is no relation between your manual entered AUX TC and the actual file, unless you copy as OMF or so. (Dunno if OMF supports aux TC, i’m not a sound guy).
You could alter all tc’s to be the same as aux tc, but what is the point? What are you trying to do, probably there is an easier way than typing your fingers off changing everything…

Since the film is direct-to-dvd, we only really need an audio only EDL, but that still leaves me with the same problem, I guess. I suppose I could change the sound that was in camera to reflect the slate TC.
