EDL nightmare
Hi there,
I have problem with importing EDL CMX 3600 from other system (I think it is a FAST purple or silver).
So, the thing is – we have a sequence that is edited and needs to be color graded on our MAC.The movie is on one tape and edl is there only to have cut points for CC, so that we do not have to cut it once again.
So, basically the source in is the same as record in, and source out is the same as the record out. Loook :

The thing is that when we import it into FCP 5.0 with recapture, it shows only one clip without any edits.
Also in Master clips folder there is only one clip called LJ as the edl says.
What should I do to have the cuts shown on timeline?

I think you are seeing one clip because FCP sees this as one continuous source with “through” edits. This is in fact what the EDL has told it. Open the sequence as a timeline and make sure you have turned on “through” edits. You should now see cuts.

I have “show trough edits” turned on in track pop-up, is there antything else that can be done to see the edits?

Change the tape name for every other line in the EDL before importing?

Probably that would do it but there is 350 clips.
I would like to see some other solution 🙁

what version liquid are you using?
there was an issue with liquid LEs (ver 6) edl output …problem with non drop and drop frame TC
also:
you can use a word prcessor to copy and replace the reel/clip namesfaryar.
