  • EDL Manager hangs with some S3D clips

Posted by David Steiner on June 5, 2012 at 6:21 pm

    Hi,

I’m having serious issues getting out of Avid with S3D projects.

The problem is very simple: for some clips, EDL manager hangs – systematically, not once in a while. I tried everything, it just hangs. But not always – only for certain S3D master clips which have nothing different from the others.

I prepared bins with the master clips, both 2D sources and S3D clips (XDCAM and DNXHD185, both native Avid MXF – no AMA at all), and the “EDLBugForAvid” bin, with self-explanatory names.
For “generique”, cutting only ONE frame at the end of the sequence makes it work.

Here is the bins, if anyone would like to try:
    https://convergence3d.net/EDLManager_Hangs_Bins_and_Dumps.zip

“_hangs” means the sequence makes EDL Manager hang, and “_works” means EDL Manager can output the EDL.

    The EDL Manager bug is:
“Bus Error” in thread “MainThread”, at address 0x0

    Anyone had this problem too?
    Thanks
