    I hope this isn’t complicated:

I have this $25000 paper weight of an editing system called, Discreet *edit. It has some old projects on it, that I want to work on, so I copied the video files over to CS3 Premiere, and they play fine. I had to change the timecode on each file clip, to preserve the original timecodes. I also changed the reel for each clip to for the same reason.

Next, I imported a CMX3600 EDL, and CS3 Priemere created a new bin and timeline, with the clip icons, but the icons are not linked to the video files.

How can I resolve this? Can’t Premiere search through the timecoded files that are loaded into the project?

    Cheers,

    Sterling

EDL only give reference to the clip timecodes.
now you’ll have to re-capture all of them (like batch capture)
    so they become linked.

    Thanks for the info.

I have to say that it would be a simple thing for the program to scan loaded fottage to see if anything matches the TC needed for the EDL.

I couldn’t recapture the footage, so I spent 3 hours relinking.
