EDL import drops transitions
Hi all
every once in a while I need to import a CMX3400a edl into FCP to finish or update a project (from a different NLE). However another editor on this forum and i have determined that FCP drops all the video transitions normally listed in our EDL’s such as wipes dissolves etc
does anyone know why? is there a fix? my wokaround has been to capture the footage for the sequence with extra handle, and add the dissolves manually, but that adds time.

That could be the problem.
Can they supply a CMX3600 edl?
That type has the least issues I found.
Though it was in days past when I offlined to Avid
and onlined to smoke.
