EDL export question
Just grading a music video with quite some text overlays and effects generated in FCP on it.
I managed to import the EDL with some baking in of effects in FCP.I thought i could leave the textgeneratos just in FCP, grade all the other clipa and import an EDL generated by Davincin inFCP to get the rendered clips back in the timeline and merge them with the textgenerators.
My problem is now, i can´t find an EDL export in DaVinci which points to the new rendered files. If i export a timeline EDL in the Conform Room, the EDL points to the orig. Media.
Is there a way to export an EDL pointing to the new rendered files, or is there something i´m missing.

This feature isn’t in Resolve yet. At least it wasn’t in 7.0.3;
I’ve asked about it before, as I think it would be of great help in some workflows, especially when the colorist isn’t the one doing the finishing.
It sounds like in your case you could render out the entire textless timeline in Target mode and just lay it in on the FCP timeline under the text – everything should line up.

This would really be a great feature.
Source mode doesn´t work in this case since there are transitions in the Edit which are not supported in the EDL so i thought i could grade the clips with handles and bring them back to FCP and add the transitions.
Without EDL export (ar any other smart suggestion) it seems I´ll have to rebuild the edit version by handManuel

I agree. It’s almost easier to grade without handles, and then create an EDL for just your transition shots, which you can edit on top of your transition less grade out. At least then you’re not re-creating the whole timeline in FCP.
What’s weird to me is that without this feature I’m not sure how I’m supposed to do anything with handles – usually I get asked for handles only if the client wants to be able to tweak the colored cut a few frames here and there if necessary. This usually means they want an FCP timeline with graded clips linked up. Unfortunately I don’t have a good way of doing that right now.
