  • EDL event limit?

We’ve got a 90 minute piece, stripped down to cuts and dissolves, 1 layer… FCP 5.0.4 just won’t output an EDL. It goes through the motions, but there’s no file saving anywhere. I’m completely at a loss….

Grass Valley does have an event number limit. For the life of me, after over six years, I can’t remember what it is. I wouldn’t be surprised if CMX does, too.

    Which format are you using?

Try breaking it in half, or better yet, in thirds, and see if that works. You should be able to keep timecode intact by not ripple deleting.

CMX3600 EDL’s have a limit of 999 events. A 90 minute program will likely exceed that limit. Splits are the way to go

I had that problem briefly, too, but it went away after I trashed preferences….
