I have an EDL (CMX 3600) from an Avid Adrenalin, NTSC Widescreen.
I brought the EDL into FC Pro 6.0.2.
FC created a sequence with all the cuts and a folder with all the uncaptured media.
I selected several clips and captured.
The media went to the timeline but everything has to be rendered and the image is not widescreen (anamorphic)
If I open the media in the source viewer, it is widescreen. If I cut the clip into the same sequence as the unrendered sequence it play fine and is widescreen.
I have been quite cautious with the capture settings, the timeline and compression setting to make sure they match, and that anamorphic checked. If I do render a portion of the timeline, it will play but the image is not widescreen.
I am new to FC, so I hopefully am making a newbie mistake.
I also know about Automatic Duck, but this is probably the only sequence I will have to transfer, so most likely won

First and foremost, create a New Sequence in FCP using the correct Video Settings for what you are capturing.

Now Copy all the shots out of the Avid Sequence and Paste them into this new Sequence.

Select All the Clips in the Sequence.

    Right Click any of them.

    Choose Remove Attributes

Then select Basic Motion and Distort.

This will remove any sort of settings brought over from Avid and the original timeline.

This should clear up your issues just fine.

    Thank-you Walter.
I don’t think I would have found that answer in the users
