EDL and Reel naming
I have a problem in transferring my EDL list.
I shot my film in DVCPROHD, trasnfer to mini DV and capture into FCP, but I forgot to name each of my reel number. I put it as 001 for every tape that I capture. Will this effect my EDL when I am trying to synched it back? There is an option when we right click the reel, and it will change the number manually, but will this effect the EDL itself?

Yes, this will affect your EDL. Yes, this is a major problem you need to fix. Name all the reels properly, reexport the EDL.

thanks, so do I need to (RE-CAPTURE) my footage, or just (RENAME) my reels will do fine?

Simply renaming the reels will do. make DARN SURE you have the right reel number.
And don’t do this again. Shame on you! (hee)

Why recapture from an EDL? Or are you going to recapture on another system like AVID etc.
If you are recapturing in FCP then read the manual on using Media Manager and search this forum as it has been covered many times. Either way you still need to have correct reel numbers before any sort of recapture.

Okay, thanks very much SHANE.
So, I just go to the clips, scroll to the right, look for reel, and right click and change it, when the system ask me changing reel will modified the data, just click OK. and done.
Correct???
