I’ve got a sequence with media from an .m4v file, h.264 video and aac audio. The file is a constant 23.976fps.

On updating to 12.0.1, premiere now thinks that this file is variable frame rate. The edits have shifted from anywhere between 2 and 4 frames in the timeline, and the properties reveal ‘variable framerate detected’. It seems to be misidentifying it as VFR.

Opening the project back in 12.0.0, and the edits return to normal.

How do I have this new version of premiere interpret the file the same way as before to preserve edits? I have tried disabling the master clip effect it puts on VFR clips, as well as forcing a frame rate in the interpret footage dialogue instead of using the source frame rate. Nothing works. There are hundreds of edits, and the project will need to be moved to other machines.

To save yourself a ton of grief, go back to the old version and stay there until this project is finished.
