Hi all,
I reinstalled Vegas 7. Sound Forge 8 as well.When I try to open SF8 (even from within Vegas)
it scans plugins and hangs “Installation folder not found. Please select a folder now.”.SF8 Never opens; so how do I select a new folder?

This may or may not be related to your current problem.
It has been advised to always use default folders when installing Vegas products. ie… C:program files/sony/vegas pro 8.
While the option is there to choose a different install location the problems of finding plugins, and such exists.Did you use the default install location when you did the initial setups? If not, maybe that is an issue.
