    Hey guys,

Can anyone recommend any good resource (web, books, videos) on creating on screen text treatments? I’m really a doc/narrative editor but I need to buff up some graphic/text skills. I don’t have a graphic design or a broadcast design background so I think I need some help in this arena. Can anyone recommend any good places to start?

    Many thanks,

    CHL

Look for the Non-Designer Series by Robin Williams.
She starts with typography fundamentals and advances to the presentation of information in many media including print, Web, TV, online video and much more.

If you have no backgrounding in graphics or text and typography, these are fabulous resources. Fun to read, excellent illustrations, great projects.

The advice and experience you gain translate directly to television. All you have to do is translate the pixel dimensions.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
