    Hi all,

I can’t seem to find an answer here on the forums – not for lack of searching. Please simply point me to the appropriate link if it’s already been answered…

I have mountains of m2t files captured in Vegas (I had no say in this – before my time on the project). The project has now been bought to me for editing. I am an FCP user, but FCP won’t work with m2t files, and transcoding or recapturing is not really an option. So as I understand it, my options are Vegas or Premiere.

I don’t like Vegas, and as an ex-Premiere user, that option is far more palatable for me.

What I can’t seem to work out is – will Premiere work with m2t files in a Mac environment?

I have downloaded the trial, but all the HDV settings are greyed out – I really don’t want to buy the software unless I am 100% that it will do what I need it to do.

My only other option would seem to be to install Windows on my Intel Mac, but with so many horror stories with Boot Camp that are circulating, I’m not in hurry to do that either.

Any advice would be appreciated. I haven’t had to delve outside of FCP or Avid in many years, so my knowledge of other NLEs is a little sketchy 😉

    Thanks in advance.

It should work. But you’ll need to buy the software. the Download don’t allow it.

How many editors does it take to change a light bulb?

    Thanks, Jon.

So much for the ‘full trial’ 😛

I will persist in tracking down a colleague with a full version and test with that. Thanks for the reply.

Try uninstalling Quicktime, reboot and see if it works then.
