  • Editing Text layer content, but NOT in the comp window

I have an EXTREMELY long horizontal text layer, and would prefer to edit it NOT in the UI, but in a separate panel, like an input panel.

(I was hoping EDIT VALUE would allow this, rather like in the Bad Olde Days, but I guess that got improved away….)

Is there any provision for editing the Text content that is sorta separate from the comp/layers windows?

    Thanks.

I just edit in Notepad or some other plain text editor, then paste it into AE. If you need to do things like set bold, italics, sizes, superscript, etc. I don’t know of a way to do that anywhere but the comp window.
