This ought to be simple, and it isn’t.
I’ve been asked to edit some sound in Logic, which I’m a beginner in.
I have a sound file of a vocal and I want to cut pieces from it and
lay it in against a music track.

I’m selecting the section I want in a close-up window
and working with copy and paste, but it’s not working.

I’ll bet there’s a click I’m missing or another command I’m not aware of.

Can you kindly steer me in the right direction?

    Thank you in advance,
    Ira Liss

One way you could do this is in the arrange windown (the big main one) use the scissor tool to cut the area you want, then you can copy and paste that one section.

Go for the Maginify Glass Toll first and highlight the area. This will make it bigger. Then switch to the scissor tool and make a cut.

Once you have made a cut you can also trim the length of the file by grabbing the lower corners of it and dragging.

    Hope that helps.
