editing Sony HDR-FX7 footage with Vegas 5

No, No, You are gonna have to upgrade your current
version of Vegas. And the importing process is somewhat the same.

OK, upgrade meaning get the latest version (version10)or is there a way to modify my Vegas 5 so it will handle the footage. Also I thought the HDR camera also films in standard def anyway.

Yes, upgrade means getting the latest version.
It also films in standard Def, So Vegas 5 can still handle that.
but you don’t want to limit yourself, trust me, That is why
i recommend upgrading….Vegas 5 aint gonna handle HDV workflow efficiently.

OK, thanks for your time with this, just one more question. Right now I can get my hands on version 6 to use for the time being. Will Vegas 6 handle this footage?. From what I see it should, I just wanted to verify.
