  • Editing SnapzPro footage in Final Cut

Okay, I’ve seen similar posts, but here’s the deali-o

I have an idea for a killer music video using footage from existing footage I have stored in iTunes (you see stuff like this all the time on YouTube).

When I import the footage into Final Cut I have to render the clips and then re-render them every single time I alter any rendered clip.

Also the rendering process takes an inordinately long time (I’ve got a new 27″ iMac, so its not my machine).

I looked at the SnapzPro prefs and reset the frame rate to 30, thinking that would fix it but it really hasn’t.

Can anyone help, or recommend a different program for capturing, or both? I really want to get this out of my head.

    Thanks

    David

Use Compressor to first convert your footage to ProRes. Then your edits will go smoothly without all the re-rendering.

    Jerry,

Looking for a good screen capture app. Downloaded ISHOWU. Looks like a great feature set. I get most of the options. But what do I set in order to frame the capture the way I want. I see a back frame, but I can’t grab it with hand to move it or grab corners to resize it. I am also getting a message that says if i want to get rid of logo or water mark to click on it and press delete. But I don’t see it on the screen. What settings are messed up? As soon I click anywhere I’m switched to the app beneath it.

I’d suggest you read the Manual…. it’s all explained there. It’s short too!

Tried that but nothing quite matches what’s on-screen. I think I might have a preferences issue or something. I’ll try a fresh download and try again.

I use SnapzPro all the time for screen capture, but I’ve never had a problem. I use it for videos that demo website navigation, and that requires animation (zooming, panning, etc.) so I work with it in Motion. I don’t think I’ve ever worked with SnapzPro files directly in FCP.

Of course, you have to render the Motion file after you import it into FCP, but it goes really quickly.

What kind of file are you saving it as?
