Have never had any luck editing photos into video in Avid. I’ve always had to use After Effects. Would love to do it all in avid but it seems the photo gets distorted. Any thoughts.

What are you wanting to do with the photos? If you just want to pan and zoom on them, use Avid’s Pan and Zoom effect. If you have BorisRed or AvidFX you can have more control over the photos there (rotate, for instance).

If you want to cut the photos up, rebuild the background, set them in 3D space and move around them–go to After Effects or Boris Red or AvidFX (which is BorisRed with the name changed).

Skip the frustration and keep using After Effects.
