Editing Mpegs for Web/Powerpoint
Is there a way, with ANY of the programs in Final Cut Studio, to simply chop off the tail end of an mpg for a client? I can get the video part to wrk, but keep ither losing the audio, or winding up with the audio as a separate clip. This is too simple to be this big a headache… Thanks!

Use Quicktime Pro

use mpeg streamclip (a free download) to export into FCP. Do your edit then save it back as an Mpeg

I’d go the QT Pro route. Recompressing with MPEG Streamclip (an excellent program) to QT, editing in FCP and then compressing that to mpeg is not a good idea. You’re recompressing an already compressed file two more times. Quality will suffer.
