Editing in 16:9 ratio without the letterbox black bars
Hi guys,
I hope you can help me out here. I’ve been trying to capture native hdv onto final cut pro, which i will then export into After effects, How ever ever time i drop the clips onto a sequenced timeline that is setup for HDV 16:9 ratio, i keep getting the letterbox black bars. And if i resize the sequence using the setup options, i often get black bars to the side of the footage. When i render out, as an uncompressed file, the black bars are obviously visible.
Can someone tell me at what point am i going about the process wrong?

Hmmm definitely something with your settings. The best way to go about getting the right settings is to click on “Easy Setup” in the Final Cut Pro menu and select the correct HDV setting, all sequences u create should be the right setting, specially if u captured at the setting.
