  • Editing imported ‘vector art’ layers inside of AE

I built a simple cartoon in AIllustrator, and imported it as a composition into AE7.

Now I’d like to animate specific layers, but HOW is not jumping out at me.

I think, had I imported the AI layers as masks, this would have been a snap. So, is it possible to convert a ‘vector art’ layer into masks (without simply starting from scratch)?

To get them as masks, you’ll need to copy in Illustrator, paste in AE. Note that you can copy a lot of masks at the same time, but it will take a while to get everything looking like it did in Illustrator, I imagine….
