    Hi,
I’m working right now on 2 corporate job shot in HD.
Acquisition of the first tapes in uncompressed 8bit HD with AJA LH.
I have 1Tb storage for 2×5 min video.
After captured tape for the first job I have only 300Gig left and there is more footage
comming for the next one, more than the first one.

Is its possible to capture to an HD draft rez or low rez, edit the video and recapture when edit locked?
If yes what setup to choose?

Thanks a lot that could save me a looooooooot of trouble

Yep, use the DVCPro HD codec for your offline. This way you still get high quality HD without all the storage requirements. The LH will convert the HD-SDI to DVCPro HD on the way in. It’s an easy setup.

    Walter,
Do you use this workflow for your HD roughcuts?
And do you finish at 8 or 10 bit uncompressed HD?
Or do you finish in DVCPRO HD?
Finally, does your Food Network client (I think I read
that’s what you were working on) take DVCPRO HD tape or
    D5 or HDCAM ?

So basicaly I just need to capture with DVCPRO codec and when the edit is done
just batch recapture using HD 8 bit uncompressed?
I do not have the deck to try I will have it only for capture time.

    thanks a lot
