I’m using FCP Studio 6.0.6 on an imac 2.16 Intel Duo Core 2 with 3 gb memory
Camera clips were shot in 1920 x 1080. I loaded the .mov files on the timeline and they are viewable without rendering required. However if I make changes which normally would not require rendering with SD clips, such as add a dissolve the clip must be rendered – and it takes quite a while. Is this to be expected? Would same thing happen if I was using a faster newer g5?

    2. If I play through an entire clip it plays properly. If we take any clip and make an edit cut, the last second before the newly made cut becomes a freeze frame. Why?

    thanks
