  Editing from a Lacie Rugged Thunderbolt HDD

  Hello all,

  So far I’ve never edited from a portable HD, always have worked with desktop hard drives, such as Lacie’s d2 or Western Digital, even on location involving transport, etc., I’ve used desktop drives . I’ve been pretty satisfied of the performances I’m getting working with HD footage like ProRes 422 in Premier Pro.

  Lacie has a range of Rugged Thunderbolt Drive they claim, for the HDD version, goes up to 122 MB/s (read). In comparison the Lacie d2 goes up to 180 Mb/s (read).

  I don’t seem there is a big difference in speed so I’m wondering if some of you have experiences to share about working with these Lacie Rugged Thunderbolt drives.
