I recently edited some footage with Twixtor (speed ramps), and have it looking like I want. Now, however, during the slow-motion portions, I want to be able to stop the frame, freeze it, make some edits, hold for a few seconds and then continue on.

In Premiere, I’d just cut the clip, do what I want and then continue the clip after…in AE I’m not sure how this is accomplished.

Do I just have to duplicate the twixtor’ed source file in the timeline and then change the IN/OUT points?
Is there a better way to do this?

    Thanks!

If it’s easier in PPro, then do it in PPro. You can then use Dynamic Link across both products or simply copy the spliced clips from PPro and paste them into an AE timeline.

You can use “time remapping” in AE to hold frames. But it can get tricky to remember where you are in the clip so as not to mistakenly start re-timing the footage again.
I’d use Premiere too, if possible.
