Editing fiction nightmare…
I?m editing a short movie, and have a big problem now…
I captured 4 whole Dv-cam tapes, then subcliped, and then synched those sublcips with the audio.
Each video subclip is merged with 3 audio files, and has a matte widescreen 1:85 filter.
All fine. All good… I´m with FCP 6.0.2.
I just started editing, and this is what happens in some clips:
– When a clip is edited in the timeline, doing “F” to show the frame and its original subclip in the viewer doesn?t work properly. What it shows in the viewer is the right frame, but from the original captured clip, not the sublcip merged with the audio and its 1:85 filter.
– When a clip is edited in the timeline, doing “shift + f” to reveal the clip in the browser doesn?t work either. FCP says “the clip is not in the browser, do you want to add it?”.
Of course I could answer “yes” to that question. If I do, the clip gets to the browser (thought it was there already), and the new clip is fine, but (a big but…) it doesn?t have my markers and anotations I did in the first one.
The thing is: of course the clip is in the browser. I mean… It?s just there!!!!
So, for some reason, something is broken here, and it?s just a big pain.
Not being able to do match-frame or showing a clip in the browser is just terrible when editing fiction.
I?ve tried trashing preferences, repairing permissions, etc..
I´ve also tried to reconnect all media, and it does reconnect well, but it still happens.
I?ve never have this problem before.
Any ideas about how to solve this?
Thanks a lot…
Flavio.
