    Editing EX1 Footage

    Hi there,

    I just purchased a Sony PMW-EX1 kit and I’m wondering if there is some combo of software that will allow me to edit on my current setup.

    I’m running Mac OS X 10.4.11

    Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5
    6 GB DDR2 SDRAM
    L2 Cache (per CPU) 1 MB
    Bus Speed 1 GHz
    GeForce 6600LE graphics card

    I’m running Final Cut Pro 5.1.4

    (I also have a Macbook Pro Intel Dual Core that I will be capturing the SxS cards to if that helps. The Final Cut version, 5.1.4)

    All help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    you will need a minimum of FCP 6.03
    and the xdcam ex software from sony that is G5 compatible.

    Thanks Chris…

    I assume you mean the Sony Transfer Tool? Sony put out this FCP plug-in that apparently transfers the clips. I found a download here:

    I’m downloading it now and going to try it out once I’ve upgraded my Final Cut Pro to version 6.0.3.
