Not natively Eyal. DVD files are encoded as MPEG2 but I believe there are many utilities that fellow Cow supporters will be able to point you to for MPEG2 to AVI conversion.

But, don’t I lose resolution when converting from mpeg2 to avi and back to dvd?

Considering that MPEG2 is highly compressed, you won’t be seeing a tremendous quality difference between your original video and your finished video. There are various tools you can use for this conversion. For more info regarding these tools and how to use then, please check https://www.videohelp.com

The Main Concept guys do have a plug-in that permits native editing of MPEG in Premiere. If you plan on doing a lot of this type of work, it might be worth a look.
