In theory, it is now a MOOT point. You should, of course, be sure that your particular ATi/AMD is supported with OpenCL in the latest versions of Catalyst. But this is a good sign that Sony intendeds to be GPU-agnostic going forward; OpenCL can support nVidia, AMD, maybe other GPUs.
