I’m trying to update an old video at my work. At the very end of the video it says, “For more Information, call:” and gives an old phone number.

There is no uncompressed master of this project. All I have is a DVD of the completed video. I’m not sure what the best way is to go about this. Can you help me?

The only thing I can think of would be dubbing the DVD to tape, capturing the tape, and editing like normal. But that way is going to make me compress this already compressed video and I imagine the results won’t be pretty. What should I do?

Download MPEG Streamclip from https://www.squared5.com and import the VOB file from the DVD. Export it as a quicktime, and import into FCP. You’ll still need some creative treatment to replace the phone number, like a new title screen, or a box over the old number. Hpe that helps.
