Editing Avid Op-atom MXF in Premiere
We have a year’s worth of a weekly event (4 cameras recorded to a multicam sequence in EditShare GeeVS’ Studio MC) captured in Avid MXF. We need to edit this media in Premiere Pro and have started transcoding it to Op-1a MXF files, which successfully relink to the multicam sequence in Premiere Pro. We could save a lot of time and effort if we can find a way to directly link the Avid Op-Atom in Premiere Pro. Has anyone done this?
We still have Avid Media Composer, so I linked the clips in Avid and exported each of them as a Quicktime Reference, which played fine in Quicktime Player but playback was skipping in Premiere Pro. Also, since the suffix of the QT Refs is .MOV the multicam sequence doesn’t relink to them, expecting MXF. Maybe if I try to link the sequence in Avid and export that instead, via AAF?
Your expertise, please!
