    Hi Vegas Pros,

I’m using Sony Vegas Pro8c and when I want to edit my audio, I open it in Sound Forge from Vegas. I have Sound Forge 7 and just upgraded to 10. Nice audio editing software. When I open in Sound Forge from Vegas, why does my audio open in Sound Forge 7 and not in 10? Is there some file I need to set or do I need to delete Sound Forge 7 and then my audio will automatically open up in Sound Forge 10? I just don’t know s I’m asking the experts.

Another question. When I first open up Vegas8c or DVD Architect5, why doesn’t it open on it’s own. Let me explain. The Sony Vegas Pro8 window opens and it starts to initialize, gathering all the information it needs to open. There’s one problem, it stops and doesn’t load the information that it needs to open until I place my mouse pointer over or onto the Vegas window, then it opens. When I move my mouse pointer away from the opening window, it stops. This is really weird.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for any help.

In Vegas go to OPTIONS-PREFERENCES-tab AUDIO and set your prefered audio editor

    Hi Theo,

Yes, I have done that and Sony Sound Forge7 still pops up. This is what shows up in my audio editing browser:
    C:\Program Files\Sony\Sound Forge 7.0\forge10.exe

I’m thinking, do I need to delete sound forge 7?
Will the sound forge10 upgrade pick up all the other files and info needed to run if 7 was deleted?

    OK Theo,

I used Sony Vegas 7 and Sound Forge10 worked beautifully.
In Vegas Pro8c I went to options> preferences> Audio> Browse> Desktop then clicked on Sound Forge10 and it worked 🙂 Here’s what I have to show you.
    C:\Program Files\Sony\Sound Forge Pro 10.0\Forge100.exe

    Thanks

    Ralph Hajik 🙂

personally, i think it’s best to edit your audio w/o running vegas or by launching via vegas.

    just my preference.
