I have transcoded my 4K red footage to 2k prores files (2048×1080) in redrushes and now want to edit 2K in fcp.

How do I best set up my project for this? I guess first I need to know how to set up a timeline that can handle 2048×1080

Feel free to ask for anymore info that is needed

    Cheers

You can look through the ‘Easy Setup’ menu when you start up and pick a Seq that matches what you’ve got…e.g. Apple ProRes 422 HQ 2048×1080. Or, pretty-much regardless of what you pick, if you have your media already on your drives and import then into your bin, then drop a shot onto a blank timeline, FCP should ask you if you want to adjust your sequence settings to match the format which you are trying to drop in there…to which you can choose ‘okay’.
